LTC Lunch - Teaching Toolbox: Managing the World in my Classroom

Tue, January 9, 2024 • 11:45am - 1:00pm (1h 15m) • Weitz 236

Our classrooms are not insulated from events in the wider world. Whether or not the course content connects to such events, students are often touched by these events and bring that into the classroom. In this session, participants will discuss how to manage diverse points of view through developing brave spaces as well as how to respond to difficult moments that might erupt in the wake of emotionally-charged current events.

Melissa Eblen-Zayas, Professor of Physics

Adriana Estill, Professor of English and M.A. and A.D. Hulings Professor of American Studies

Participants must register for this lunch.

This event is co-sponsored by the Division of Equity, Inclusion and Community.
